Ennio Morricone --
Genti Di Rispetto ...
NEW CD
Overlooked genius from Morricone -- a mid 70s soundtrack that's filled with dark touches and some beautifully edgey scoring! Apart from a few lighter touches on mandolin, a good deal of the soundtrack features these great instrumental passages that step, halt, and almost stumble along -- moving moodily with a really dark quality, yet in a way that's not nearly as atonal as some of Morricone's other scores of this nature. There's some great woodwinds, and harpsichord often seems to be used underneath the rhythms -- but really buried in the mix, almost like it's being stepped on! CD features some bonus tracks -- a total of 16 tracks that include "Solo Per Amore", "Gente Ipocrita", "Mandolini E Chitarre", "Appendice 1", "Angoscia E Paura", and "Passeggiata A Rischio".
