A great album by Doug Carn -- his fourth for Black Jazz, and a wonderful album all the way through! This one doesn't have Jean Carn on vocals, and instead features a twin-vocal lead with the voices of Joyce Green and John Conner working nicely in tandem to create this airy spiritual sound that's just great. Doug's great on keyboards -- not only just organ, but moog and electric piano as well -- and the whole album grooves along with a tight soulful sound that's a perfect summation of the Black Jazz label at its best!
Titles include "Higher Ground", "Chant", "Sanctuary", "The Messenger", and "Mighty Mighty".
