The album's got the appeal of some of the best obscure American indie sets from the time -- and it's got a blend of jazzy instrumentation, soulful vocals, and some tightly funky undercurrents -- played in ways that are never too slick or commercial.
The rhythms really drive the set -- very tight at most points, and with some sweet drums that have made the record a favorite of beatheads for years -- when they've been able to find it!
