One of the best new records we've heard in years from Irma Records -- a breezy bossa-influenced session that's filled with classic influences! Nu Braz is the brainchild of vocalist/arranger Emmanuele Cucchi, an artist with a sense of Brazilian music that runs far deeper than just some of the bossa remix-styled work that's been floating around of late.
The sound here is filled with lots of acoustic instrumentation on guitar, percussion, and horns -- then mixed with bits of Fender Rhodes, sound samples, and a few other electric touches -- all in a nicely-balanced mode that allows the gentle soul of Emmanuele's vision to shine through brightly!
