Bernardo Bertolucci was born on March 16th, 1941 in Parma, Italy.
In 1961 he started his carrer in cinema as assistent director on Pier Paolo Pasolini's film Accattone.
In his films we often find a fast-changing society where insicurety and uncertainty are bound to take over.

In spite of that his characters did not want to give up and get in line.
Bertolucci's notoriety peaked in 1972 with Last Tango in Paris a controversial and scandalous film which marked an era.
In 1987 came the definitive consecration with his colossal The Last Emperor, winning nine Academy Awards.
This book with a collection of posters, rare on-set pictures,a complete filmography, and a CD with original tracks

from his most famous movies is an official tribute to the astounding career of his amazing artist.
