As seventh volume of the series dedicated to the Italian Police movies Digitmovies proudly releases - for the first time complete and in full stereo - the OST by Franco Micalizzi for the cult movie ¿Genova a mano armata¿ (aka ¿L¿homme sans pitié¿ ¿ ¿Merciless Man¿) which was directed in 1976 by Mario Lanfranchi and starred Tony Lo Bianco, Maud Adams, Adolfo Celi, Howard Ross, Barbara Vittoria Calori, Fiona Florence, Luigi Bonos. Tony Lo Bianco plays the role of a former American FBI and Interpol agent who, after being expelled from the CIA, opens a detective agency in Genoa. Here he gets known as ¿ The American", although he has Sicilian roots. The man is engaged to investigate on the sequestration and murder of a famous ship owner and also to recover one billion of Liras which had been claimed as ransom for the freedom of the man. After many ups and downs the detective manages to get to the real murderer. With the approval of the same Maestro Micalizzi, for this CD we have used every recorded note found on the stereo master tapes of the original session. This gave us the chance to realize a CD eagerly awaited by fans for one of the best Italian Police movies with an excellent OST by Franco Micalizzi (with a main theme which is among the favourite ones of the composer himself, who often plays it live with his orchestra BIG BUBBLING BAND). The OST opens with a vigorous main theme for brass and rhythms in Tr.1, then reprised with different arrangements in Tr.5, Tr.7, Tr.9.Tr.10, Tr.11, Tr.14, Tr.16, Tr.17. This main theme is alternated with moments of suspense (Tr.2, Tr.4, Tr.8, Tr.12, Tr.15), with music for piano solo (Tr.13), of atonal kind (Tr.6), and with ¿Sambamba¿, a sunny pop piece with a Latin flavour for chorus and orchestra (Tr.3).
