“Enjoy each minute, while it casts its ray! Spring runs its course, love fades away”, according to German poet -Emanuel Geibel. Now, 200 years later, the era of digital archives allows us to bring back and savour the odd minute or two. And this is where we come in.
The Berlin-based DVD label Monitorpop specialises in unconventional artists and themes beyond the mainstream, a.o. a retrospective on Berlin’s early 80s underground scene Berlin Super 80 or cult films by NY director Amos Kollek.

This compilation assembles a range of talents who pursue their very own, often radical and inevitably, idiosyncratic paths. Among them: Viennese artist Hermann Nitsch, photographer Miron Zownir, musician Matthew Herbert, Mark Stewart, founder of the legendary punk-funk band THE POP GROUP and performance artist Leigh Bowery. All interviews are exclusive to this compilation and the videos or slide shows feature rare, unearthed treasures not to be seen on daily television – stimulating distractions for all lovers of eclectic entertainment.
