Sinclair were founded in 2003 when Silver Verlicchi (keys, synths, programming) and Marco Rossi (bass, live synths, graphic project), decided to form a band to recreate the typically 80¿s concept of an electropop act surrounded by the aesthetics which characterized their music and artwork in those days, flitered by laptops and other contemporary tools.

It was a way to channel the duo¿s passion for vintage electronics, the 80¿s decade, new wave, electro and industrial music.

They started to rehearse together and after a few line-up changes they consolidated with the voices of Federico Ingoli and Daniela Castellucci (actress with Gruppo Teatro Danza Genesi) who, coming from different experiences and other musical backgrounds, bring to the band further contaminations creating their current sound. During the last couple of years they¿ve been performing everywhere ¿ more than 70 gigs, sharing the stage with artists like Cassius, Louie Austen and Marco Passarani, among the others: not bad for a band with no previous releases.

They arrive then at Disco Dada Records and begin to record in the studio with the guidance of Lorenzo Montana¿, musician/producer well known for his work with Tying Tiffany and Gianluca Lopresti.

¿Electric Black Sheep¿ is like a photo, a report of the band¿s four year research, together with the evolution of technology and instrumentation used. It¿s Electropop that wants to save the heritage of the genre since its roots, to merge it with contemporary original sounds and give birth to compositions often danceable, but never obvious. The cover artwork of ¿Electric Black Sheep¿ is conceived by Francesco Spampinato, multimedia artist based in Bologna in New York, one of the most interesting names of the new Italian generation .

His work is constantly present at important national and international contemporary art like exhibitions Viafarini in Milano, GCAC in Monfalcone, MAMbo and Pinacoteca Nazionale in Bologna, Deitch Projects and e-flux in New York.
