Sly Stone "Seventh Son" CD
SLY STONE
"SEVENTH SON (1963/1967)"
NEW CD DIGIPACK

SOUL

On this album you can hear Sly & The Family Stone in their very early development. Recording dates are fairly unknown but recording's made are of many songs never released before, recorded by Sly Stone at Autumn Records, and thereabouts. Autumn's release selection meant that it stockpiled more masters than it actually released. These are songs recorded from 1963 to 1966, some never even seeing the light of day until now. Packed in a beatutiful cover with previously unseen pictures of the family. Liner notes by Sly "connoisseur" Mick Collins (Dirtbombs, Gories).

SLY STONE: "SEVENTH SON (1963/1967)".

"Rare early work from Sly Stone -- some really great sockin-soul tunes, recorded in San Francisco during the mid 60! The style here is less funky than some of Sly's more famous work, but the overall groove is nice and lively -- with plenty of tunes that have a hard soul or Northern approach, as Sly and combo work their way through some great originals that include "Seventh Son", "Every Dog Has His Day", "You're My Only One", "Heavenly Angel", "Oh What A Night", "Yellow Moon", "Honest", "Uncle Sam Needs You My Friend", and "Take My Advice". "

SlyStone in the early stages of development. Recorded at Autumn Records between 1963 to 1966, many of these titles were previously unreleased. A mix of doo-wop to teen "beat" single, which he later use to a much greater effect with The Family Stone.
