Telepathy formed in 2011, the product of two Polish brothers and an English guitarist. From then on the Colchester, UK based instrumental metal band have set about becoming one of the undergrounds most exciting hopes of recent times. With their demo E.P Fracture and the 2014 debut album 12 Areas receiving rave reviews across blog s and print magazines throughout Europe (Visions Magazine, Ox Fanzine, Fuze, Rock – a – Rolla, Terrorizer, etc), the band are continuing a momentum that has seen them grow from strength to strength.
“12 Areas” has been championed by fans of post-metal, sludge and progressive music alike, speaking volumes for the bands inventive, nuanced and emotionally punishing take on instrumental metal. With such an array of styles and emotions forming into a unique and cohesive whole, Telepathy display an ability to bring fans of many types of metal and instrumental music into their strange and alluring world. Live, the bands furious performances have made Telepathy one of the most talked about bands in the European underground and has gained fans on three European tours, the latest in 2016 including a stop at the prestigious Incubate Festival in Tilburg, where they were heralded as one of the top 15 bands of the festival by 3voor12, alongside Thurston Moore and Yob.
Telepathy separates itself from the shoe-gazing masses with the infectious and cathartic energy they exude on stage. From performances alongside more established names such as Rosetta, Year of No Light and Oathbreaker, to sets at Incubate Festival, Desertfest 2016 and beyond, the immediate impact of Telepathy’s live shows has been felt across the continent. With their second release, the band are aiming for an early 2017 release and intent on continuing their ascension from the underground.
