THE ALBERT

self-titled

PERCEPTION

SEALED LP REISSUE

Limited edition high-quality vinyl LP reissue

Psychedelic soul with progressive horn arrangements and Hendrix-esque guitar.

The kind of genre-blending that was done so well circa 1970. Excellent, exact re-issue. Perception PLP 9.

The only LP we've ever seen by this funky rock group from the early 70s – a really tight little combo with plenty of jazzy influences, best known for their backing of James Moody on the Teachers album for Perception!

The record's a great blend of styles – funky jazz, progressive rock, and lots of other trippy sounds that show up in the production of the album, and some of the longer jamming solos – and there's a great genre-crossing feel to the whole set, very much in the best tripped-out style of the Perception label in the early 70s!

Vocals are a bit weak at times, but the group more than make up for it with some great playing – and titles include "Misery", "Try", "All Her Vows", "Let It Fall", "Cold N Hard", and "Pity The Child".

Tracks:

Pity the Child
Things Ain't Easy
Cold 'n Hard
Been So Good (For So Long)
Misery
Let it Fall
