-Simone e Matteo, Un gioco da ragazzi

Digitmovies travels back in time to the 1970s and presents for the very first time on CD and in full stereo two OST by Guido & Maurizio De Angelis. At that time only two 45 rpm singles had been issued which contained the songs, but not one note from the instrumental scores. "Arrivano Joe e Margherito " (aka " Run, Run Joe! " - "Zwei tolle Hechte auf dem Weg zum Himmel ") was a 1974 movie directed by Giuseppe Colizzi which starred the very famous American actors Keith Carradine (" Emperor of the North ", " Nashville", Star Trek Enterprise") and Tom Skerritt (" Alien ") along with Sybill Danning and Cyril Cusack in supporting roles. Director Colizzi has written and directed a funny and rich action story, recreating the atmosphere of his previous movies starring Bud Spencer and Terence Hill like "Dio perdona.io no!" (1967), "I quattro dell'Ave Maria" (1968), "La collina degli stivali" (1969) (OSTs already issued on Digitmovies CDs) and "Piu' forte ragazzi!" (1972). Joe (Carradine) is an American " Picciotto " responsible to transfer the mafia boss Don Salvatore, a descendent of an ancient family and heir of a big fortune, to the United States. Another mafia boss, Don Salpicone, who by all means wants to put his hands on the same legacy, declares war to the other boss who is protected by Joe, The two men then end up on a yacht of Parkintosh, an Englishman on holiday with his daughter Betty. The group grows when the fisherman Margherito (Skerritt) comes aboard, taken in from his boat. From that moment Joe and Margherito become a hardened duo which must fight the opposed gang, and they are chased to Marseilles both by the villains and the police .. Guido e Maurizio De Angelis have written a soundtrack which works as a perfect music background for the dynamite adventures of these two characters on the loose. In 1974 only in Germany a 45 rpm single (RCA TPBO 1032) with the songs "Take it easy, Joe " and " Running away " was released - performed by the mythical Oliver Onions (Tr.6, Tr.14). In exploring the RCA archives we have found the stereo master tapes which contained an album mock-up never issued in those days and other takes that do appear here for the first time: the instrumental version of the song featured on the single (Tr.1), performed by a brilliant brass section and an orchestra with Latin American flavour, a funny Sicilian theme for Jew's harp and and the Choir of I Cantori Moderni di Alessandroni (Tr.2), a beat theme (Tr.3), a Rock'n Roll theme (Tr.5), a rhythmic orchestral waltz with Moog (Tr.7), a romantic theme with Lounge style (Tr.8), sexy music (Tr.10), a Rock Tango (Tr.11), a piece of Progressive Rock for a chase scene (Tr.12), a Sicilian / American march (Tr.13). This varied OST, in addition to the songs of the original single, is completed by two other unreleased songs (Tr.4, Tr.9).As a bonus we present another rare score in full stereo on this CD: the complete OST by the De Angelis brothers for the film " Simone e Matteo un gioco da ragazzi " (aka " Kid Stuff") directed in 1975 by Giuliano Carmineo and starring Paul L. Smith and Michael Coby (real name Antonio Cantanfora). Both of these actors were famous for being almost "physical clones " of the famous duo Bud Spencer and Terence Hill in the two movies "Carambola" (OST released on Digitmovies CD) and "Il Vangelo secondo Simone e Matteo", the sequel of "Simone e Matteo". The big Simone and the thin Matteo agree to drive to Marseilles a truck loaded with bottles full of insecticide which are actually weapons. This results in nonstop car chases, fist fights and cakes thrown into faces. In 1975 only a 45 rpm single was issued (Cinevox MDF 076) with the two songs " On my way " (Tr.15) and " Grey hat "(Tr.27) performed by DreamBags. For the first time we are now releasing delicious instrumental variations of these songs which were discovered in the original stereo master tapes stereo kept until today in the Cinevox Record archives.
