This great series keeps on redefining itself! While previous volumes have focused on funky, jazzy, and Latiny cuts -- this fab 8th volume features a beautiful blend of tracks with a spare easy feel, and an exploration into the Italian minimalist groovy medium, in the same vein as classic Morricone scores like La Donna Invisible and Le Casse. There's 21 tracks in all, by the likes of Gino Marinacci, Lou Stein, Stefano Torossi, Paolo Vasile, Alfred Waitzman, Piero Piccioni, Berto Pisano, Walter Rizzati, and others! Great great stuff, and like the title implies, a different musical horizon than previous volumes. Nice Guido Crepax cover, too.

After the party-on-wax that is Easy Tempo Vol 7, the guys at Easy Tempo have changed the scene for this release which definately has a leaning towards vocal tracks. So we get some lovely wordless vocals, some gentle songs, light bossa thrown into the usual mix of groovy instrumentals. Exquisite!
