A trio of Italian western soundtracks from Francesco De Masi -- one of the greatest composers of the genre! L'Uomo Della Valle Maledetta is from the mid 60s -- and has a style that's relatively traditional -- with strings filling out most of the backgrounds, and bold horns or harmonica taking on most of the dramatic themes. La Sfida Dei MacKenna is from 5 years later -- and has a groovier, more open style of scoring -- one that bounces along with a bit of electric bass at the bottom, and which isolates the instruments a bit more -- in a style that was clearly inspired by some of the Morricone touches of the time. E Venne Il Tempo Di Uccidere may well be the coolest one here -- as it's got a great English-language theme, plus instrumentation that includes harpsichord, marimba, and guitar -- all produced with a cool watery finish! 33 tracks in all
