Lied Des Teufels-Lied Des Teufels-'72 german progressiv/political rock-NEW LP
Lied Des Teufels
new LP
REISSUE
Lied des Teufels (songs of the devil) was a post MURPHY BLEND and HANUMAN outfit, that recorded this excellent German progressive Krautrock album on the KUCKUCK label in 1973.
The lyrics are strongly politically and socially engaged, while it is musically very similar to the first two OUT OF FOCUS albums.
This album, is a perfect example of the early 70s German progressive Krautrock scene and should be part of every serious 70s progressive rock collection.
Limited edition, deluxe 180g vinyl, heavy cover.
German band Hanuman changed their name to Lied Des Teufels in 1972. They were a quartet comprising Peter Barth (vocals, sax, flute), Ralf Schultze (guitar, vocals), Jorg Hahnfield (bass) and Thomas Holm (drums). "Lied Des Teufels" (1972) was a fine, progressive and political rock effort, not dissimilar to Ihre Kinder. The main difference was that Lied Des Teufels used more instrumental work (notably guitar and flute) and favoured complex arrangements. One could say that their music was more progressive-orientated than Ihre Kinder's folky song style. "Hollich Heisse Rockmusik" (1975) veered towards a Teutonic, politically-aware Gentle Giant.
