NOVELLS - THAT DID IT!
NEW LP
REISSUE
Vinyl reissue of an obscure LP from a Los Angeles group, released locally in 1968.
Though still relatively unknown within collectors' circles, THE NOVELLS offer a fine mixture of garage and pop-psyche. The album features original compositions and some covers (f.i. Lee Michaels' 'Love', Cream's 'Sunshine Of Your Love' and Otis Redding's 'Dock Of The Bay'), with a strong, effective organ sound and some serious fuzz guitar, giving it an appealing psychedelic vibe. Surprisingly for a private release, this was produced by Boyce and Hart, songwriters for a.o. THE MONKEES. All in all, this LP makes for a more than nice discovery for garage fans and popsike collectors alike. Limited to 500 copies, with remastered sound and preserving the original artwork.
