Spectrum is an Australian progressive rock band which formed in April 1969 and broke up in April 1973.
During October 1971, Spectrum formed a side project, Indelible Murtceps, using the same line-up of Ray Arnott on drums, Lee Neale on electric piano, Bill Putt on bass guitar and Mike Rudd on vocals and guitar. They performed at pubs, and local dances, playing a more dance/pop-oriented repertoire and using a simpler set-up than when performing as Spectrum. By September 1972 Neale had left both bands; he was replaced by John Mills (10) on keyboards.
Since the late 1990s, Spectrum has reformed around the nucleus of Mike Rudd, Bill Putt, John Mills with the addition of some new members. Bill Putt passed away on 7 August 2013.
