2 great Italian comedy soundtracks on one CD -- both very groovy! 002 Operazione Luna is a space spoof from the mid 60s -- and is presented here by Lallo Gori with some wonderful instrumentation that steps easily from jazzy, upbeat numbers to those that have a sparer, more brooding 60s "space" quality. The sound is almost akin to that of Peter Thomas at the time -- with a bit less dramatic flourishes and electronics, but certainly a love of short and quirky little tunes! Il Clan Dei Due Borsalini is a 70s comedy about a school for thieves -- and is scored in a great way that features wordless chorus vocals scatting along with the jazzy tunes on a number of tracks -- ala Alessandroni -- followed by a number of other great jazzy themes and bossa numbers! The whole thing's great -- and the CD is a real treasure trove of great work by the under-reissued Gori -- with 36 tracks in all, and nearly 80 minutes of music!
